2sleepy: "4 the Next Day (Remixes)"
2sleepy is an electronic project from Kyiv, Ukraine, currently based in New York, Kyiv and Krakow. 2sleepy was one of the first to pave the way for upscale electronic scene in Ukraine in the mid-2000s. After having released their debut album Fragments of Sleep on the Austrian record label Laridae in 2006, the band recorded the album Art Fraud in 2008, which was named one of the most important albums in the history of Ukrainian electronic music. In 2012, the band created a soundtrack to the restored version of Ivan Kavaleridze's classic film Perekop. After that, the band went on hiatus to resume it 3 years later, when they started working on their new record. In 2018, 2sleepy dropped their third album For The Next Day, which was recorded completely remotely. The album was nominated for the Aprize Award.
4 The Next Day (Remixes) is a 4-track collection of remixes. It features artists from the modern Ukrainian downtempo scene: Tyupa, Polygrim, Diser Tape, and Neonknight. The cover art, as in the previous 2sleepy release, was created by American artist Ari Wolff.
According to 2sleepy ā€¯Tracks were reworked by our friends who share our approach and tastes in music. And, in our opinion, it resulted in the perfect mix of tender and dreamy electronics. Besides, when listening to this mini-album, it is perceived not like a collection of random tracks, but rather as a standalone piece of music"
