Elisabeth Waters: "Shades of Blue"
Elisabeth Waters, a Boston-based singer/songwriter, once again takes our breath away with her new release, Shades of Blue. This collection of 3 variations gives us a peek into Elisabeth’s emotional journey, while she draws us in with her storytelling and tasteful melodies. After success with her previous release ‘Pet Names’, she finally comes back with more thoughtful lyrics of her feelings that stem from real-life stories and heartbreak.
Shades of Blue’s producer and lead engineer Tessa Ying gives an insight into the making of the collection, “We decided to give each one a different feel to show the different sides of what a relationship could be. In the first two shades of blue, we really embodied the essence of the song and the production and mix capture that. The remix is an unexpected twist that I decided to make for a bit of fun.”
Shades of Blue:
‘Blue – Acoustic’ showcases Elisabeth’s strong voice supported by JP Donelan on guitar. This is the foundation of the song, and raw emotions flood this shade of blue.
‘Blue – Alternate Mix’ is a full band arrangement that transforms the song into a vibey and groovey RnB/Jazz song that is best paired with a crisp glass of wine. Featuring Jack Sax Davies on the alto saxophone, the song starts to breathe with life and will earn a special place in your heart.
‘Blue – Remix’ gives us an epic spin on the song, taking us away with giant synth swells and a dance beat that gets the audience moving. A breath of fresh air hits you at the drop, pumping the synth and sax.
