Emilya ndME: “Thank you for your Complaints”
Lauretta Grechi Galeno aka Emilya ndMe is an Indie rock electro-pop artist from Genova, Italy. She is passionate about music from her early years and she initially approaches to Jazz music and after to Swing Music, both part of the cultural background of Emilya ndMe. Her musical journey is full of experiences such as the participation in the Lunezia Prize as author of texts (she was only 20) and the collaborations with the world of theater since summer 2016. The sounds from her music are international like the well known Indie rock and Electro Pop music, winking at the same time at Downtempo, Trip Hop and Glitch music. The influences are varied: from Daughter, Florence + The Machine and Metric to Garbage, Jack White, Portishead without ever forgetting the cultural background coming from genres like Jazz, Swing and Grunge Rock.
During the winter season in 2018/19 she signed with the independent Italian label Cockroach International Production for the publication of the single Snow (correlated by official video clip) published on January 21, 2019. Snow anticipates the release of the first complete solo album of the Emilya ndMe project and which creates thousands of streams and views on distribution channels (43,000 streams on Spotify, 45,000 views on Youtube) with many positive reviews from technicians in the music field. The second single Yellow Led from the release date (September 2019) recorded 122,000 plays on Spotify and 275,000 views on Youtube. A Giant Step, the third single, was released on September 15, 2019 first on Youtube (43,000 views) and then on Spotify touches the 73,000 views. The song tells about a typical day of a little girl and her dad that ends with an intimate concert dedicated to the both of them, played by Emilya ndMe at the piano .
The new album entitled “Thank you for your Complaints” comes out in the heart of spring, in May 2020. According the artist herself “My album reminds me the nature, the wind, the ice and the Iceland’s sea. And with this in mind i think about the forests and clouds that move quickly. I wanted to put in the music the colors and the sounds that remind me the “Open air” life, with noises that invade my senses. And finally, my dimension as a single human being disappears to reunite with the universe.”
The album is self-produced by Lauretta Grechi Galeno, mixed by Gabriele Pallanca of Genova Records and mastered by Valgeir Sigurðsson (historical collaborator of Björk, Sigur Rós, Brian Eno and Damon Albarn) in the studios of Greenhouse Studios and edited by Cockroach International Production.
