Gluum: "A Glummy Prom."

Gluum: "A Glummy Prom."

A Glummy Prom. is the first single/EP from the "Sad Boy Artist" known as gluum.

gluum is a newcomer on the indie pop scene. Based out of Charlotte, NC, gluum mashes a plethora of genres together to make a truly unique sound; almost as if Kanye West produced for the Gorillaz featuring Talking Heads.

"Setting Up For One Night Only Really Seems to Set Off My Mania." is a short introduction to the EP, setting the soundscape with lush synths that feel very shoegaze at heart; transporting us to the gymnasium with the dusty disco ball.

"Napoleon Dynamite (Rokk Ur Wrld.)" is a homage to everything about the 80's. cheeky lyrics; over the top vocoders for lead vocals; whimsical synths and guitars. this should've been in the Napoleon Dynamite movie, but instead it just helps reduce your risk of covid-19 by 0%; side effects include smiling, laughter, and humming the chorus when you try to sleep at night. this is lo-fi indie pop at its finest.

"Proms Over. (Reverbed, Detuned, Slowed)" is just a different take on the single, but with a much more retro and melancholic twist. it's slowed down as if you are rewinding that slow dance over and over in your head, while you lie awake in bed full of dread.
