Kodiak Arcade: "Something Real"
Kodiak Arcade is an ongoing art project spearheaded by Graeme Cornies, an award winning composer best known for his film and television work with Voodoo Highway Music and Post.
Kodiak Arcade also makes electronic music with organic instruments and has now released a new single “Something Real”. Cornies explained, “Something Real” is a mood-propelling song about the moments where we stop ruminating on the past or planning for the future in favour of being present. It’s also about the futility of trying to have it all. We might not be living the present we envisioned, but it’s what we actually have, and best of all, it’s something real. I made every frame of the animated video using a revolutionary new process for image making, involving human and AI collaboration. Essentially, I asked a computer to imagine specific things and this is the outcome. It’s a unique look into where AI imagery is at right now. Still, I have the feeling that we’re witnessing a beautiful technology in its infancy. In the short term I think this tech could fundamentally change concept art creation, and in the long term, I hope I get to explore these environments in hifi VR.”
