Lori: "Release Me"

Lori Forster, known previously from her punk-rock project Weekend Recovery, is currently pursuing a new solo venture as ‘LORI’, focusing on an electronic pop sound. The first single from this new endeavour ‘Harlequin’ out via These Bloody Thieves Records (Falseheads, SONS) late last year dazzled her already loyal fan base along with some great radio play and attention from the industry.

New single 'Release Me' out on 21st May is an infectious pop track with a noughties dance vibe and a La Roux style falsetto drenching the chorus hook. Influenced by Foxes, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Phoebe Bridgers and a large range of other female artists; this song takes the listener on a familiar journey of 21st century dating. Describing the meaning behind the song Forster says “Release me is a song about finding that person that makes you feel like that bit in the movies where everything stops, and you're like damn! Things go well, then they slowly stop answering your texts, but are happy to call you up when they need anything. For whatever reason you allow this behaviour and all you want is to let yourself let them go." 'Release Me' was recorded and produced by Dan Lucas at Anchorbaby Recording Company and mastered by Joe Fisher at Rainy Daze Recording Studios.

LORI’s profile has been building through the last three years by touring, gaining strong support slots and great press coverage and radio with her band Weekend Recovery (Kerrang, Radio X, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and Planet Rock). After announcing her first UK tour (now taking place in Sep 2021) her strong network of fans jumped at the chance to follow her new journey into the pop world, with all shows looking to be jam packed for this upcoming artist.
