Viktoria Vera: "Living in the Future"

Viktoria Vera: "Living in the Future"

At twenty years of age, Viktoria Vera’s multifaceted pop sound is rooted in a wide range of inspirations absorbed from her time growing up singing in her home country of Poland.  Grounded in her humble beginnings, her love for Rnb and soul music fuels her creative process. Vera seeks to fuse together retro-soul and modern soul sounds with contemporary production and sound design while experimenting with different genres outside of her central musical identity which lays somewhere between Soul and RnB.

Her new and latest single, “Living in the Future” is out now on all streaming platforms.  This song is about coming of age in the modern world where society as a whole is embracing a force beyond the scope of perception.  The track is about modernity at its core and what it represents aesthetically and morally as technology and modern lifestyles clash with who we are biologically and spiritually as humans.

Vera states, “Living In The Future is about focusing on the present moment and embracing the courage necessary to not feel the need to escape from the present.”   As John Mayer once put in his song, we live in an “age of worry” especially as we all are rising out of the 2020 Covid Pandemic.  This song is a testament to not worrying about what will happen tomorrow because we cannot always prevent certain situations from unfolding.

It features music producer and guitarist, Dan Searl who creates a indie-rock atmosphere for Vera’s soulful and vibrantly rich vocal. Searl also wrote the music and lyrics along with Vera.

Coming next week is the Official music video for “Living In The Future” produced by Masshendrix, an upcoming youtube channel out of Boston, along with Lit Honey Productions. This video is coming on May 28th.  The music video is set at a train station to symbolize waiting for the next thing to happen, we are always waiting for the next thing to happen these days.

This video can be read as a metaphor for life about the act of waiting rather than taking action in the present moment.  It is a reflection on how you will progress in a forward direction without proper effort and bravery in your prospective path.

The contemporary minor blues, rock flares help the track delve into current affairs with soulful poetic swagger.  In addition, Her New E.P. with a variety collaborations with rappers based in the Boston are is due out this September 2021.

This song was produced by Lit Honey Productions out of Boston, Massachusetts.
