Jack Rush: The Wildcat
Swiss artist Jack Rush Unleashes a Fierce New Single "The Wildcat"
Following the success of his debut album Late Bloomer, released last November, Swiss-based artist Jack Rush returns with an electrifying new single, "The Wildcat", which droppd on March 27. This marks his first release since the acclaimed album debut and showcases a raw, high-energy side of his artistry.
Produced by Marcelo Bertozzo, "The Wildcat" is a fiery, no-holds-barred rocker infused with the raucous spirit of The Pixies, The Offspring and The Black Keys. Instrumentally, the track is driven by gritty, post-punk distortion guitar, pounding drums, and an aggressive bassline, while Rush’s distinct vocals are highly charged with his characteristic emotional flare.
Lyrically, "The Wildcat" is as biting as it is playful. Rush paints a sharp yet conflicted portrait of a snobby yet irresistible woman, delivering tongue-in-cheek lines like "she's got some style but she wears a frown, her nose is high while she's looking down". The track oozes frustration, irony, and a tinge of infatuation, making it an exhilarating listen from start to finish.
Jack Rush, who made waves with his late-career debut Late Bloomer, proves once again that he’s a force to be reckoned with. With "The Wildcat", he embraces a more aggressive, rebellious edge, once again surprising with his contemporary and incisive sound notwithstanding his late entry into the modern music scene.
