Vishisdead: "Don't Come Closer"
Vishisdead is an Australian emo / cloud rap artist from Port Macquarie, NSW. Vishisdead writes about love, lust, heartbreak and everything in-between. All of Vishisdead’s songs are based around previous experiences and feelings he has had and felt.
Vishisdead has seen local and international success with rotation on mainstream radio in major US cities including Miami, Los Angeles, New York City and Chicago.
Vishisdead gained traction through uploads from popular YouTube channels and built up a solid listener base across Europe.
“Making music has always been a vice I’ve used to express the artistic side of me. It has allowed me to express pain while enjoying the outcome. Through music I wish to reach out to more artists from multiple genres. I’m always looking for ways to work with more musicians. I write my own original lyrics and melodies'' explained Vishisdead.
For this song I decided to take a different direction to how I normally write my lyrics. Don’t come closer is written through the eyes of an abuser calling out to someone to be with them, to fall into their trap. I incorporated the timeless tale of the Little red riding hood and the big bad wolf to describe the relationship. The wolf is in disguise calling for Little Red Riding Hood to come closer into the wolf embrace.

Congrats on the release of Don’t Come Closer! Can you tell us more about incorporating the story of Little Red Riding Hood and The Big Bad Wolf into the song?
I thought that the story of little red riding hood was fitting for the song, because of its infamous tale of the Wolf trying to lure her into his trap under a disguise, which was the whole idea I had for the song, so it worked out perfectly.
When you have a general song idea, how long does it take to get lyrics down? Is it different each time?
It can vary, but I can normally get my lyrics down within an hour or two, it just depends how stubborn the beat wants to be haha.
If you could have your fans remember one thing about you what would it be?
One thing? Just the music, that’s my everything wrapped up nice and sweet.
What are your favourite hobbies and interests outside of music?
I game a lot, I play a lot of survival horror games like resident evil. I also collect Pokémon cards haha.
What can we expect to see next from Vishisdead?
I’d love to drop an EP later this year or early next year, but definitely more singles.
