Aurpan Kar: "What You Need"
With every release from the 17 year old Canberran artist Aurpan Kar, his vision and creative image expands through his music. The music Aurpan makes reflects the environment around him and tells the story of a young visionary making his way through the world and sharing his experiences. The self taught rapper and producer started making music in 2017, releasing three albums and seven singles on major streaming services.
His style is mainly recognizable through the heavily melodic approach he has to tracks and the similar flows he uses to create a theme between all his music. Aurpan wishes to indulge in as many forms of music as possible, learning the different disciplines associated and expanding his diversity in music. At the end of the day however, Aurpan wants to be able to inspire others using music as an art form and continue to have fun in the process.
His latest single “WHAT YOU NEED” is a summer dance song with EDM and Reggaeton influence throughout. The buildup is catchy and the breakdown is wide and bubbly, leading the way to a bouncy and truly Coachella-esc vibe. Aurpan strays away from the braggadocious rap themes he is known for and sings more traditional party pop style lyrics, which contribute to the Ibiza beach in the summer vibes this track already communicates. The song talks about giving someone whatever they need to have a good time, making sure life is stress free and that the only thing that’s needed in return is love and smiles. Aurpan uses this track to simply be happy and express that happiness in a shareable medium.
