Caitie: Tragic
A rich blend of energetic retro-pop cut with deep and pointed observations about life set Caitie's music apart from the crowd. Born and raised in a Northern steel town, she gradually learned to channel her thoughts into music, writing for therapy. A truly modern-day storyteller, Caitie delves into the inner parts of herself to deliver poignant lyrics wrapped in sarcasm and humour.
2022 saw Caitie take the time to find and refine her sound. Giving herself permission to delve deeper into her own experiences and forensically diarising them in her songs.
Her forthcoming release ‘Tragic’ is a musical journey inspired by a fairytale friendship, shattered by the harsh realities of teenage school popularity. ’Tragic’ sees Caitie’s sound move into a musical space full of ambient soundscapes and a palette pulled from 80s power pop.
The life of any woman is an odyssey deserving of acknowledgment, through Caitie’s lens we see that story unfold amidst the many fires and pressures of female friendship, love and self exploration.
‘Tragic’ is out today and is the first chapter in a period Caitie refers to as ‘Electric Blue’.
