Camens: Work/Life/Balance
Real, raw and relatable, alternative indie collective Camens introduce their highly anticipated debut album, ‘WORK/LIFE/BALANCE’. Hailing from a somewhat forgotten northern town, as so many of the best do, Camens were born out of long nights in freezing cold practice rooms. Struggling to find time away from the daily grind to be creative, they channeled their frustrations into their music. Over the past few years, Camens have captured the attention of audiences across the UK and beyond with their unerring live shows and relatable lyrics, in a constant pursuit of both community and escapism.
Blending authentic lyrics with sophisticated 2000s guitar tones, ‘WORK/LIFE/BALANCE’ showcases a maturity in Camens’ craft. With anthemic choruses, pummeling drums and enduring guitar melodies, this is an indie record for the ages. Taking inspiration from bands such as Interpol, Vampire Weekend and Weezer, Camens walk the line between time-honoured rock n’ roll and the very best indie pop, topped off with a dash of northern realism.
A masterpiece in its own right, the unveiling of this record is a major milestone for Camens, who have already received significant support from radio and press, Steve Lamacq and John Kennedy both being notable in their admiration. Alongside this the band have secured national festival slots for this summer, including Tramlines, Jurassic Fields, Lee Stock, The Weekend Fest, DevaFest, WeyFest and more. With their sights set high on entering the UK charts, Camens are already well on track for placement with the steadfast support of their ever-growing fanbase.
