Duke & The Dry Cleaners: "Now We're Cooking"
London based Acid Jazz band Duke & The Dry Cleaners emerged on the scene in 2017, formed organically out of a studio project spearheaded by lead vocalist and songwriter Oli Duke. Their signature sound is a kinetic and colourful fusion of Jazz, Funk, Disco and Soul. Upcoming single ‘Now We’re Cooking’ features the band’s characteristic jazzy riffs and grooving bass, but also takes their sound in a slightly different direction. Duke’s vocals are complemented by soulful harmonies and self-assured lyrics, indicative of the band’s scintillating potential. “This song was written after a music festival in the woods with an amazing group of people. I was trying to encapsulate that feeling of being surrounded by people you love and who you know will look out for you, and wanting to share that far and wide. It's a bit different to our other songs but I think it maintains that funky undercurrent that drives and motivates us.” ‘Now We’re Cooking’ follows the band’s debut single ‘I Want To’, created alongside co-producer Arjun Doel and released earlier this year. The song received notable acclaim from blog coverage, and the band have also been praised for their dynamic live performances. The band are cooking up more tracks to be released throughout the year, so keep an eye out for delicious new Acid Jazz offerings from Duke & The Dry Cleaners.
