In Memoirs: "Your Name"

In Memoirs: "Your Name"

‘Your Name’ is the first single from the upcoming album ‘Hope, Fear & Fashion’, and it is also the first single with new music from In Memoirs in almost two years.

In Memoirs is a personal solo project by Morten Fillipsen (The Grenadines). The dreamy and melancholic pop songs are accompanied by stories about his own personal experiences, hence the name In Memoirs. The new single is a different kind of love story and is about the meeting between two exes. After years of separation the ex is now standing in the doorway wanting to continue where they left off. For many years years your thoughts have been circling around this particular scenario with equal parts fear and hope - because what do you when the person who left you suddenly wants you back? "There is an amazing nerve and dynamic in the song and the arrangement consists of six parts that underline the phases you go through after a breakup - eg. denial, hope, despair and acceptance. The songs is a kind of catharsis", Morten Fillipsen says.

In May 2017 he released the critically acclaimed debut album 'Love, Dreams & Sunsets' from where the single 'So You're Not Alone' was among the most played songs on the Danish National Radio . Through the many clichés of pop music the album was heavily inspired by the big emotions of the mid-twenties, and the optimistic "happy-go-lucky"- approach to life. The album was about living, pursuing love and conquering the world. In May 2020 the new album 'Hope, Fear & Fashion' will be released. It is part two in a bigger thematic release plan. The album is more quiet than the debut, and it circles around the early 30s more mature way of looking at life. Optimism has been replaced by realism, but the dreams are still there.
