Interview: Adam Wissman
Adam Wissman is a guitarist/composer/producer based in Nashville, Tennessee. Adam earned his BA in Commercial Music from Millikin University and an MA in Jazz Studies from University of Northern Colorado.
His new album “Empire” is out on all platforms and he’s got hot licks that you are absolutely going to want to check out!
We recently had a chance to check in with Adam and he was kind enough to respond to a few interview questions:
Adam - Tell us more about how you got started in music?
When I was a child I used to watch my dad play guitar. I was infatuated with not only the sound of the guitar, but also how it looked and felt in my hand. When it comes to my inspiration for music it pretty much all stems from my father. He had shown me all of the early music that made me want to practice and get better. My upcoming album Empire is memorial to him and his love for guitar.
What is the most difficult aspect about starting a career in entertainment?
Understanding how to be honest with yourself when creating. I always try to think about my audience and what they like when writing a new composition. I used to write music that sounded great to me, but I just recently started thinking about the listener's experience as a priority.
Who are your biggest influences in music and why?
My Dad is my biggest influence. He started my love for guitar and music so naturally I have to put him at the top of the list.
Do you have anything that is new or upcoming that we can expect to see from you?
My full length album Empire is on all major streaming services. There are 14 new tracks to enjoy!
