Interview: B. La'Rouge

Interview: B. La'Rouge

Thank you for taking this interview with us! B. La'Rouge is such a rockstar name! Can you tell us about the story behind the artist moniker?

No problem and thank you for having me! Rouge is red in French and I have my trademark large birthmark on my face which makes me pretty identifiable. I combined it with my last name initial and voilà!

You're trained in the violin which is so impressive! Does that hold any influence on the music you create?

Yes, it does! The violin helped my ears know what to listen for when I create songs for myself and certain techniques that I feel I could’ve only learned with playing instruments. Now, my voice is my main instrument but I would love to get back into the swing of playing my violin and even add it to my songs.

Your new upcoming single 'Vanessa' is about to drop! Congratulations! Can you tell us about the song and what you want the fans to get from it?

Ab-so-lutely! Vanessa is a song about being confidently sexy, sassy, and being completely unapologetic about what you do. I want people to embrace their inner bad b****, and not worry about what the next person thinks. It’s YOUR life boo!

Were there any challenges in the recording of 'Vanessa'?

The only real challenge with Vanessa was how did I want to deliver the song. I wanted to blend my rap style with my R&B but not sound overly aggressive to the listener. What sticks with people is not necessarily what you say, but about how you say it.

What are some of your music goals going forward in 2021?

My music goals for 2021 are to be a billionaire and live happily ever after. LOL just kidding. I want to continue to grow as an artist, have my music heard in places that I haven’t been to (YET) and work with a lot of great people! I’m literally a sponge for knowledge.

Where can your readers go and listen to 'Vanessa' and follow you?

They can check out “Vanessa” on all streaming platforms starting 1/22/21 as well as the visual on YouTube. Follow ya girl on IG @b.larouge and on Twitter @beezlarouge to see what crazy things I might say next.

Have a listen and connect with B. La’Rouge on social media.
