Interview: Grable
Hi Grable, thanks for sitting down with us today. Let’s start off by chatting about your new album! Tell us about it! Well this album is my debut, and for that reason and many others i will hold it dear to me. The album is a bedroom pop album chalk full of inspiration for young artists! Each song represents an experience I went through or felt close to, and these were hard situations. #ITHINKIMFINE represents all the moments where you feel like almost giving up, Moments i thought i was fine but was not so sure. The message I hope listeners do get from this album is that even at your darkest hour, keep going. If you push through, you truly will be fine :)
What’s your favorite era of music? I know a lot of people might cringe at this answer, but I honestly can say it is our current era. I know a lot of people might disagree on a mainstream music note mainly, but if you think of all the variety, variations, remixes and re-stylings of music we have right now, then you can see how this is certainly the best. I mean any song in any genre, if you want to listen to Halsey in the style of Metallica or Beethoven, you can probably find that remix or restyle on the internet somewhere!
What are you more passionate about, the creative process or the final product? OH I am way more passionate about the creative process! I think I kind of naturally have to be, since the creative process takes a lot of energy, but also gives it right back. It's a beautiful process and I love it. The final creations I don't spend a lot of time observing, but I do enjoy hearing the perspective of others who listen to my completed songs.
Do you structure or schedule your songwriting or is it more spur of the moment? I would love to say it is structured, and sometimes i try to, but for the most part i tend to structure everything else around the creative process, Inspiration can really come at any moment, but not all ideas are golden gems haha
Who’s music is inspiring your sound right now? To be quite honest, a select few underground artists have been really inspiring me lately, but inspiration can come from so many different mediums!
Who’s your dream collab? Ooooh, ya know I have never really thought about this question before! Honestly I would love to collab with someone whose music is VERY different from my own and see what happens with it!
Do you have a favorite lyric or verse for your new album? Ooooh I do, haha. But you will have to listen to it to find out where it is. "What is a room? The absence of you."
