Mark was awarded a 2020 Telly Award for producing the holiday special "A Different Kind of Christmas."
We recently had the pleasure of checking in with Mark and he was kind enough to update us on his artistic journey by answering a few interview questions.
Hi Mark! Thanks for being here! Tell us about your upcoming music!
I am releasing a Christmas Single this week called “FaLaLa With You”. It was part of a Christmas special last season and won the Telly Award for best Holiday Special. So we decided to do a video and release it as a single this year!
What has been the biggest "pinch me" moment of your career thus far?
Well…I’ve had 3 hits, and believe me, those are pinch-me moments. I’ve won some awards, and you think, “how did THIS happen?” lol…but, I think the biggest pinch-me is happening now. I’m producing 5 artists and composing 4 feature films. Along with that, the pinch-me moment…which I can announce after the first of the year! Wow. Still makes my head swim with gratitude.
What could you give a 40-minute presentation on without any preparation beforehand?
I love coaching voice and producing vocals. I’ve been hired to speak vocal conferences and 40 minutes just gets me started.
I’m also a HUGE music theory nerd and could talk about that forever.
Top 3 things on your music bucket list…
1. Best song at the Oscars.
2. Produce a new artist all the way to the Grammys and make their dreams come true.
3. Create an original movie musical!
What holiday song do you wish you'd written and why?
O HOLY NIGHT. It’s so beautiful.
Do you have any must-do holiday traditions?
I’m part of an amazing and large family. We have many, but I love Christmas breakfast. My big brother is the chef and it’s fun to give him orders. LOL.
What is inspiring you right now?
I have to say, the artists I get to produce. They inspire me and work really hard and love music SO much!
Who's your dream holiday song collaborator?
Santa. He knows I’ve been good.
