Sophia Warren is a 16-year-old singer-songwriter from Austin Texas. Sophia has been working towards a career in music for the past 4 years. The mission behind her music, "When people listen to my music I want them to feel safe. I want to help people with my music who are going through a tough time such as depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, etc."
We had the pleasure of checking in with Sophia and she was kind enough to respond to a few interview questions:
Hi Sophia, great to have you here today!!
Which artists' style do you love most?
Vocally I love Kurt Cobain. The rawness and grit to his voice are so emotional and real.
Do you get attached to some songs more than others?
If we are speaking about my own music I get attached to every single one especially if I'm writing about a certain situation I was in. If we are talking about other artists I get attached more to songs with an emotional and sad meaning behind them.
What is the most meaningful song/album you have ever written?
It would probably be my song "Mid February". The song is about an old couple and the husband passes away. Its love, loss, and depression, and finally the line "I'm coming to you" is the woman passing and finally being reunited.
Do you need to be in a certain mood to write?
Not really! When I write typically it's at random. I could be doing the dishes and all of a sudden a melody or lyric comes in to head and I immediately write it down!
How does the vibe of an audience affect your performance?
When I'm performing I kinda go into a zone. But if an audience is really into it energizes me and makes me want to perform even better.
What makes you feel powerful?
Empowering others to really be themselves and go after their dream!
Please tell our readers how to keep in touch with you and your latest music releases!!
