October Brigade: "Gun for Hire"
The Chicago duo October Brigade just released their new single “Gun For Hire”. The song is an epic-feeling cinematic production, with stellar guest vocals from the Israel-based singer, Liel Bar-Z.
The group describes themselves as a “funky, techno, emotional rollercoaster”— and their latest release fits the bill. However, what’s not represented in their selfdescription is just how encapsulating and powerful their music can be.
“Gun For Hire” could be heard more as an audible film than a song. It features distinct movements and sectional progressions that makes you feel like you’ve been transported to a whole new scene, much like the song artwork itself—which was the creation of an Italian designer who reached out to the band inspired to create a pairing for their work.
After diving fully into their catalog online, you start to realize this kind of depth is a common theme throughout their releases, and there’s been a lot of them this year. “Gun For Hire” is the 11th single the band has released so far in 2021.
