He was born into a family of creatives & musicians which is clearly evident through his energetic performances & vibrant stage presence.
Rory K was first introduced to rap through his upbringing on Canal Street where Mixtapes & Fashion go hand in hand. He was meticulous in his approach to lyrics & honed his freestyling and battle skills by listening to rappers such as Lil Wayne & Cassidy. While Rory K is a chameleon when it comes to genres, you'd be hard pressed to find a song of his that doesn’t incorporate rap with his penchant for clever & humorous punchlines. His content has a wide range of topics & as he once said his music is “fit for the club, the strip club & the heartbreak club”.
Rory K’s new single “Better Than My Ex” distinguishes itself with a clever story-line, funny punchlines & dancehall inspired beat, while staying true to the current sound in Hip Hop. The hook is bouncy & reminded me of Tory Lanez, while the verses feature the ever so relatable topic of success being the best form of revenge.
