Sonamó: "I Walk Through"
Sonamó is a San Francisco Bay Area band that plays a dynamic, passionate blend of melodic lines with hefty doses of funk and acid jazz.
To describe the sound of the band: if Sting and Jamiroquai had a lovechild they would name it Sonamó, and it would be eclectic and open-minded like the City by the Bay.
It all started when Sonamo’s founder Giuseppe Pinto first moved to the United States in 2010 for work and as Pinto describes: ”When you are transplanted to a new country that’s completely different from where you grew up, there is a big chance of feeling lost and lonely. That’s because leaving behind your family and friends could be daunting, especially if English is not your first language”.
This feeling of solitude reached a peak in 2013 bringing Pinto to a crossroads in his life where he had to choose between either coming back to Italy or drastically making a change to take back control.
In 2013 he moved to San Francisco, and embraced the city’s culture and open-mindedness, using music as a tool to develop new bonds.
Their new single “I Walk Through” is a song about the imminent transition into a new phase. It describes a specific moment where joy and pain co-existed, with its transformative, shaping experiences. The music takes you on a journey of hopeful and joyful departure, intertwining deep lyrics with lush and vibrant beats that pave the way for a hopeful and triumphant new beginning. Prepare to roll, shift and drift with the grooves of this dreamy yet swaggering romantic ballad.
