TheMindSettlers: TakeyourTime

Ride the Crux of the Waves in TheMindSettlers’ Latest Feat of Ambient Electronica, TakeyourTime

Quebec-residing experimental electronica duo, TheMindSettlers have given us another dose of tranquil sonic medicine with their instrumentally-minimal latest single, TakeyourTime, inspired by the crux of Canadian waves.

Utilising one of the greatest forces of nature against the tranquil beats and oscillating electronic flows, TakeyourTime takes ambience to a spiritual level, defying the usual constraints of electronic production.

With one half of the duo coming from an industrial background and the other hailing from the rave scene, TheMindSettlers’ merged two elements frequently found together in downtempo grooves and allowed them to come together in lush resonance.

For fans of Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada and Autechre.

TheMindSettlers said:“The idea came when we went around the city of Montreal and found some surfers close to Lachine Canal. The base chords remind the flow of the water, and we added a water noise sample in the background to accentuate that feeling.”
