To celebrate the release of his new single Sahil "Abana" Dhingra approaches it in a completely new way. The track called "Sativa Jazz" is accompanied by the release of 3 NFT's, what are those ?

Here is a quick explanation from MusicTechNFTs: "NFTs – Non-Fungible Tokens – are commonly likened to digital pieces of art. In short, an NFT can represent the ownership of an original copy of a song, album, merch, or any unique item. The NFT is held in the blockchain, where it cannot be copied or deleted, & is insured by a smart contract that allows the transfer of ownership and validity of the NFT. The buyer owns this digital piece of art, which can change in value depending on popularity, intrinsic value, and sometimes utility as a token and if they want to sell it, they can."

Each of these 3 NFT's come in different levels of rarity and with different benefits, from custom rolling paper (it's released on 420 afterall), to single vinyl pressings to unique hoodies with the matching art you've bought. The three-piece collection was created in collaboration partly with an anonymous digital artist and with illustrator Michele Bagnod (Vinyl cover art) and with CRUSH, a new and upcoming digital artist who is recently venturing in the crypto side of things.

This format as new as it sounds is not virgin territory for artists, with the pandemic being around for a while now many artists have looked for new ways to make revenue. Music Producers, DJs, Artists (both visual & audio), are using NFT to create a more direct connection with their fans without having to give large amounts of their revenue to a middle man. A huge benefit to NFTs for artists is the "royalty" factor that gives a usual standard of 10% of secondary sales to the artist(s).

A bit more about Abana, based in London by way of Los Angeles, Abana is the latest multi-disciplinary creative to share his original music-focused & art NFT with the world -- right on time to celebrate 4/20.

Here is some more detailed info on the individual NFT's:

'Sativa Jazz' is the first piece of the collection with 69 editions available. Each purchase will come with a limited designed pressing vinyl, custom rolling papers, and stickers. 11 'special' serial numbers will receive a limited edition hoodie with hand-stitched album art. ('Special' Serial Numbers to be released after ALL Editions have sold out)

'Spinello Sativa', the second piece of the collection, is an ode to his Italian brethren & influence over the past three years, making only 3 editions available. Purchasing one of the ‘Spinello Sativa’ will grant access to collectors as a utility for a secondary NFT to be released on 4/20 of 2022. Each purchase will come with a limited design pressing vinyl, custom rolling papers & joint holder, stickers, and 1 'special' serial number will receive a limited edition hoodie with hand-stitched ‘Spinello Sativa’ artwork.

The final part of the release is a one-of-one edition collaboration with Swiss-American designer, CRUSH (3D Design / Illustration), & Luxemborg based Michele Bagnod (Illustration).

The piece entitled ‘Softboy Sativa’ is available for a 24 hour auction with a minimum bid of $4.20. The winner of the auction will receive a signed test pressing of the vinyl, a limited design pressing vinyl, custom rolling papers & joint holder, stickers, and a limited hoodie with a hand-stitched version of ‘Softboy Sativa’. The winner of the auction will also receive the full downloadable .wav of ‘Sativa Jazz’ 2 weeks prior to release.
