Chloe Selavka: "Sweet"
Chloe Selavka has been tethered to music her entire life, so it’s no surprise now that she chose to pursue it. Inspired by the sounds of Dodie Clark, Taylor Swift, and Phoebe Bridgers, Chloe’s music is a lyrical blend resulting in music for anybody sad, in love, or both. Massachusetts born and raised, the 18 year old enjoys writing about the complex people and relationships around her. Finding the fine art in the tough places in life and putting them on paper is her favorite pastime. She’s been writing music since she was 12, inspired by the cracks in pavement and the way it smells after it rains. After a few years off of writing due to dedicating herself to musical theater, she got back into it full swing when the COVID-19 pandemic caused a lockdown and there was nothing left to do but write constantly. The time in solitude spurred the creation of many of her songs and convinced her to pursue music, something that she always viewed as a pipe dream. She is currently releasing Sweet, a song that at its core is about pure, selfless, and simple love. She was inspired to write the song after a long rom-com binge that lead her to realize love is not nearly as complicated as it seems. She is very happy to be following her heart today, and encourages anyone who’s ever believed their dream is impossible to give it a shot. Chloe is currently still living in Massachusetts, writing her secrets into staff lines.
