TAHM – The Comeback You Didn’t Know You Needed

by Jack Rush

Some stories don’t end—they just wait for the right moment to be told again.

TAHM began life in the 90s, formed by Katie Palmer, Ian Palmer, and Paul Hodgson. Armed with raw talent and a relentless drive, they quickly signed with Roadrunner Records, making an impact from the start. Recording alongside legendary producers Paul Kendall (Nine Inch Nails) and George Shilling (Bernard Butler, Yazz), their music found its way into Hollywood films (Entrapment, Virus, Stargate), Sky TV commercials, and the Stargate series.

With national airplay, critical acclaim from Kerrang!, Melody Maker, and NME, and tours alongside Shed 7, Smoke City, and Cleopatra, TAHM was making waves. Their sound was electric, their energy undeniable—but then life took over.

Fast-forward 25 years. A chance meeting reignited the spark, and suddenly, the band that once burned so brightly was ready to step back into the light. This wasn’t about chasing the past—it was about proving that creativity doesn’t have a time limit.

In 2023, they released Tonight We’re Strangers, a collaboration with Tom Taylor (Kiwi), gaining strong support from BBC Introducing. With Tom returning to Kiwi, TAHM pushed forward, writing and recording new material with George Shilling. Their upcoming 2025 releases have already started turning heads, with the first single earning major airplay on BBC Northwest Introducing and a feature on the BBCOrbit app.

Then came 17 Years—TAHM’s first return single, a song that resonated across generations. It soared to #1 on the Prospect Music Charts, proving that their music still had a place in today’s landscape. The track gained radio play as far as Los Angeles, bringing TAHM’s sound to a whole new audience, reinforcing that great music has no expiration date.

Now, with a sound that merges the raw guitar energy of Olivia Rodrigo with the storytelling finesse of Taylor Swift—while still staying true to their 90s indie roots—TAHM is proving that age is just a number when the music still has something to say.

This isn’t a throwback. This isn’t a reunion tour. This is a band that never lost its fire, finally ready to set the world alight again.

Turn it up. The best is yet to come.
