Sekat: "Dernier Mot"
Sekat is a French artist, currently based in Paris, who has already been streamed more than 200 000 times on Spotify since August 2019. Ever since he started his career as a rapper, Sekat has been busy trying to find his own way into the music industry, developing a unique style of writing, singing and even now producing his songs. He’s been working very hard for the past few months, using the COVID crisis to create a new, prolific repertoire of new songs, all of them pointing to the same artistic direction.
Dernier Mot is one of those, a desperate scream coming straight from the artist's heart, trying to tell the indescribable horror of an extremely violent situation. Dernier Mot is his response to the true story of a woman he loves, who was beaten up, psychologically and physically tortured by her ex-boyfriend.
The video clip is now cumulating more than 10 000 views on YouTube, which is clearly the best score the artist ever made on this platform. The design of the artwork is based on a genuine protest collage that the feminist activists who plastered it on the city walls specifically intended as an answer to this woman’s tormentor.
