Emma Remelle: "Better"
Emma Remelle's sound pairs the honesty vocalized by some of her earliest Folk & Americana influences, with modern day Alt-Pop. Emma grew up in Virginia and started songwriting after learning to play acoustic guitar in High School. After schooling, she eventually relocated to Washington, D.C., where she began to focus on music and building her catalogue. Emma's debut EP, "Better", dropped late July, 2020. "Better" is a conceptual album meant to take the listener on a celestial journey, with it's innovative soundscape blending poetically with it's lyrical storytelling.
"I wanted to create something that was really true to me as a songwriter, with folk and country influences at the root, but also wanted to incorporate some of my biggest inspirations on the production side as well. I referenced a few of my favorite songwriters, from Nelly Furtado and Lennon Stella, to Jewel and Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries; pulling production influence from producers like Timbaland, Flume, and Labrinth, as I've always been a big fan and inspired by their work as well. The producer I work with, Jake Vicious, really helped to meld those two worlds of songwriting and experimental production together, and we're really proud of the sound that we were able to come up with for the EP. And excited for you to hear for yourself!"
