FOXYMORON DELIVER ‘BEHIND CLOSED DOORS’
Brisbane’s favourite indie-rockers Foxymoron are releasing their anthemic new single ‘Behind Closed Doors’. Back from a successful run of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne shows, the band are hungry for more. This catchy hit is reminiscent of Aussie-rock legends such as Hoodoo Gurus, Custard and Powderfinger. Drowning in charming cynicism and irony, Foxymoron captures the hearts of inbetweeners and twentysomethings. This latest release, ‘Behind Closed Doors’, follows a twisted love story and is the precursor to their upcoming EP release Soapbox Cinema Pt 2.
As well as the heartbreak and bitterness that comes with a typical breakup, the track captures the awkward space in time when neither party acknowledges that the relationship simply isn't working. All things considered, the "t-t-t-tell me are you nervous" line is the hook you'll be singing in your car, in your shower and in your kitchen. Jason Overton, frontman of Foxymoron, provided us with some insight on the single: “Behind Closed Doors disguises frustration and betrayal with an uplifting piece of music. It’s like that messy breakup where we told our friends we were fine. Regardless of that suppression, the anger still seeps through.”
Catch Foxymoron touring through Brisbane, Gold Coast, Yamba, Wollongong, Sydney and more in October 2019.
