Hook x Xenia Manasseh: A Little Thing Called Love
Ultra-prolific producer and active in many projects (Muthoni Drummer Queen, Murmures Barbares, Yeba, etc.), the Swiss artist Hook releases after almost 15 years of career his first solo single, "A Little Thing Called Love". A condensation of futuristic R'n'B with a massive and throbbing beat.
Heading to Kenya for a creative residency in early 2022, further deepening his ties to the local scene (a relationship begun in 2013 when he started collaborating with Nairobi group Muthoni Drummer Queen), Hook met singer Xenia Manasseh there. She then laid down her vocal lines on the track, combining without contradiction fragility and power, telling of the fluctuations of stability in love ("I'm accustomed to going through changes" / "You came around and you flipped that").
Recorded and mixed by Hook himself while in Nairobi, the track was then mastered by Stefan Heger. The artwork is the work of Mero.uno based on a photo by Joao Prates.
