Houstones: Holy

Houstones: Holy

"Holy" is the new single and video by the Italian-Swiss band Houstones, an alternative rock quartet artistically produced by the legendary Marco Fasolo (Verdena, Bud Spencer Blues Explosion, Jennifer Gentle).

The band, composed of Saul Savarino (vocals, guitar), Joel Pfister (drums), Maurizio Cuomo (bass) and Serena Maggini (keyboards and vocals), has been active since 2012 and has two albums behind it, as well as a number of important collaborations.

“Holy was born in the studio, written all together, one of the first songs written from scratch with the new lineup and it was a nice experiment. We tried to mix our musical influences and it resulted in stuff that was a little bit 80s, a little bit psychedelic but I don't really know what came out.

Like all the songs it's about relationships, but there's no real theme, it's about feelings and disappointments, it speaks in images but it tends more toward hallucination than narrative.”

As for the video, a couple of lines of feeling from director Ambra Guidotti:

“The video is a tribute to nostalgia, a nonsensical collection of nuances, a moving slide show imagery of a summer gone by.

A video narrative, the fourth and final in the series of singles, purely aesthetic that ends with the Houstones' concert. The four-episode narrative then reaches its epilogue when we finally see the band playing.”
