Swiss-based musical artist Jack Rush has released his debut album titled “Late Bloomer” on Rattler Records.
A showcase of different genres, the album highlights his eclectic palette, presenting a dynamic range of sounds and styles, from melodic rock to singer-songwriter to rhythmic pop, reflecting Rush's distinct musical voice and his diverse influences like Neil Young, David Bowie, Blur, and Mac Demarco.
With infectious grooves, earworm melodies and emotional lyrics, "Late Bloomer ” promises to win over fans of different genres. Each track offers a fresh perspective, blending varied influences into something uniquely his own.
Explaining the eclectic range of styles on the album, Rush commented, “I love different genres of music and some of my biggest influences like Beck and Damon Alborn (Blur, Gorillaz) are constantly mixing their styles. So I prefer not to be confined to any nonexistent rules that say an artist has to be 'consistent,' and I will continue to do what I like, rules be damned.”
The title track “Late Bloomer” is the new lead single from the album that highlights his deep and emotional lyricism in the singer-songwriter tradition of James Taylor and Joni Mitchell and captures the spirit of an artist who found his groove later than expected.
“The title track single is obviously a heart-felt love song, but also a metaphor for my musical project and path as a decidedly late blooming artist,” 68 year old Jack says. “Since I started playing guitar and singing as a teenager it took decades to improve musically and only a year and a half ago I finally felt ready to write and record my music. Late Bloomer is the result of this slow artistic maturation of mine. In addition, I absolutely have to acknowledge my team of talented producers Tatum Rush (Jack's son), Marcelo Bertozzo, Robin Girod and Neihardt (Davide Joerg) without whom the album would have been impossible to make."
This debut not only introduces Jack Rush as a compelling new voice in the music scene, but also sets the tone for further experimentation and growth since the artist has no plans to stop with the release of the debut album. Instead he intends to play live occasionally and is already continuing his journey by working on new material that will come to the public next year.
