NoKillShelter "Sweetheart" (feat. Clear Mortifee)
Clear Mortifee is a genre-fluid non-binary artist hailing from Vancouver, Canada. They demonstrate their creative vision through spiritual centering and erotic sanctification, initiating an important evolution in the narrative surrounding trans + femme empowerment, sex, and art. With over 3 million streams on Spotify alone, they invent music that is poignantly suited for our times. "Sweetheart” shares their story of a 5D-facilitated connection with a stranger, chronicling the lack of attachment that enabled them to grow with the experience instead of shrink away in fear.
Nokillshelter’s Nick Eckhart was developing his own kind of sound long before he considered himself to be a musician. Growing up on Steely Dan, Johnny Cash, Zeppelin and a wide array of other musical influences, Eckhart was glued to the drums by the age of five. He played in bands throughout his childhood and early adulthood, but a transformative experience urged him to move forward with his music. Immersed in Taoist culture while working at a Chinese Medical Center (Yo San), Eckhart found the gift of meditation. He set out to learn every instrument himself, yearning to “learn the process of packaging art as whole.”
NoKillShelter was born shortly after Eckhart put down his drumsticks and sprung forward into the world of production, under the mentorship of producers like Tommy Hubbard and Dru DeCaro. Itching to create introspective and mind-blowing sounds through the use of hand collected samples and vintage synths, his sound is creative and modern with a spiritual allure. His original compositions live like landscapes a dream world, each with its own energy and focus.
