Living between Switzerland and the USA Penny Shears has been writing his debut album on the road over the course of the last few years. He was floating from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City, Geneva, Switzerland, and New York throughout the entire process, all while in the wake of leaving the Mormon faith which he was born into. Suggestive of his story, the Boise, Idaho-raised artist's lyrics pull emotionally from themes of existentialism and self reflection. Sung over rich guitar tones, his vocals and vulnerable lyrics carve a path between dreams and a search for personal truth while the music itself brings back the mood of late mid-century rock. Most of the tracks were recorded in New York with artist and engineer Sam Owens (Sam Evian), while the rest were recorded in Geneva with Swiss artists Robin Girod and Nelson Schaer, alongside engineer Yvan Bing.
