Silk on Steel: "Fragments"
Silk on Steel has announced its debut EP release ‘Fragments’
Created from the embers of UK band Rhesus, Silk on Steel came to life in 2018 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, drawing from the members’ shared love for rock music.
Raw, powerful and emotive. Silk on Steel plays an array of different styles and feelings wrapped around a 90’s tinged rock/pop core. Expect haunting melodies and expansive guitar riffs over hypnotic drums paired with rock solid bass grooves. The band’s music will remind you of Radiohead, Placebo, Editors and Coldplay.
Lullaby: On top of the steady and propelling groove from the drums and bass, dreamy and echoing guitar sounds fill your ears, guaranteed to invoke moods of melancholy and lost love. The EP also contains a radio edit of the song.
Welcome To Our Revolution: This puts the ‘Steel’ in Silk on Steel. The heavy guitars and energetic vocals will make you want to get out and be a rebel, marching through the streets with banners that say "I'm not finished, I'm not giving up."
Back At You: Starting with the calm mood the song gradually picks up the energy and reaches its culmination in the powerful guitar solo. The dark and tense atmosphere after the solo keeps the listener in suspense, surrounded by thumping bass and floating guitar, before launching into the final chorus. The track also features guest female backing vocals.
The EP was recorded, mixed and mastered at the IJland Studio in Amsterdam.
