SUBURBS: "Next To Me"
SUBURBS is not a place, but an idea. Something that lives in both the ideal and the outskirts of a dream. A collective of thought. A community with no boundaries, bringing people together through artistic expression. What started as a simple beat on a rainy evening in the summer of 2019 became the statement piece that would help define the next era for SUBURBS. The song's writing & recording took place in 3 quarantined apartments as the band explored one's fabricated desire for love & intimacy.
Hailing from Southern Ontario, SUBURBS is an independent-pop trio. After years of playing different styles of music in a variety of settings, Dave, Mac, and Jake decided to come together to write and produce a new sound of their own. Their love for catchy melodies, storytelling-lyricism and entrenched groove lead them to self-produce their debut EP, The Sweet Nothing EP, in 2020.
