Wesley to Launch Debut Album ‘The Charming Smile and The Glorious Life’

Rising alternative rock band Wesley, a four-piece group originating from Southwest England, will celebrate the launch of their highly-anticipated debut album, ‘The Charming Smile and The Glorious Life’, with an exclusive release party at the iconic Old Blue Last in Shoreditch on Saturday, 8th February 2025.
Known for their unique sound that draws on influences such as Joni Mitchell, Fontaines D.C., and The Kinks, Wesley combines humor, introspection, and sharp political commentary in their music. Their artistry has earned comparisons to XTC and The Smiths, and their energetic live performances have solidified their reputation as a standout act on London’s vibrant music scene.
Their debut album, an eight-track LP, captures the band’s ability to balance playful storytelling with thought-provoking themes. The lead single, ‘On Sunny Beaches’, offers a heartfelt nod to their Southwest England roots, blending nostalgia with vivid imagery of coastal life. The accompanying music video has already garnered significant attention. The album’s final single, ‘Closing Time’ is released today adding to the anticipation for the full album drop.
The release party will feature live support from acclaimed singer-songwriter Constance Sojourner, as well as performances by eclectic collective Compost Compost Compost. DJs LÈÓN, LPLATE, NENCINI & LEMON, and DINNER PARTY will keep the festivities going until 3 a.m.
