人魚 : Lisa Lurati e Alessandro Polo

Dal 12 dicembre 2020 al 9 gennaio 2021 Sonnenstube Off-space presenterà una bi-personale dal titolo 人魚, l’ultimo episodio itinerante dell’anno 2020, a Villa Florida, che vedrà l’esposizione delle opere di Lisa Lurati e Alessandro Polo. / From 12 December 2020 to 9 January 2021 Sonnenstube Off-space will present a duo show entitled 人魚, the last itinerant episode of the year 2020, at Villa Florida, which will exhibit the works of Lisa Lurati and Alessandro Polo.

人魚 sarà un viaggio all’interno di un immaginario di caccia e sopravvivenza, nel quale vedremo apparire scenari naturali dove le meditazioni esistenziali si fondono con l’assurdo e il banale. Un canovaccio di ciò che potrebbe, sicumericamente, rivelarsi come un presagio sul rapporto fra uomo e natura o smascherarsi come la messa in scena di una semplice storiella. / 人魚 will be a journey within an imaginary of hunting and survival, in which we will see natural scenarios appear where existential meditations blend with the absurd and the banal. A canvas of what could, arrogantly, reveal itself as an omen on the relationship between man and nature or unmask itself as the enactment of a simple fairy tale.

L’eterogeneità della mostra sarà data proprio dalIe discordanti tecniche dei lavori che i due artisti hanno realizzato per quest’occasione. Dalla cucina sperimentale, alla costruzione di armi fasulle fino alla cianotipia e il latex. Le opere di Lurati e Polo costruiranno un percorso espositivo che coinvolgerà tutti e tre i piani di Villa Florida nel quartiere di Loreto. / The heterogeneity of the exhibition will be given by the different techniques of the works that the two artists have produced for this occasion. From experimental cooking to the construction of fake weapons to cyanotype and latex. The works by Lurati and Polo will build an exhibition that will involve all three floors of Villa Florida in the Loreto area.

Lisa Lurati
(1989) vive e lavora fra Basilea e Lugano. Si è formata presso la scuola di fotografia di Vevey (CEPV). Dopo il BA ha lavorato 2 d’anni per Thomas Saraceno, dopo i quali si è iscritta presso l’accademia di Basilea (FHNW) dove ha recentemente conseguito il suo master. Lisa Lurati lavora a partire da un materiale visivo ibrido, trovato o prodotto indifferentemente e poi costantemente mescolato, manipolato e trasformato per creare nuove immagini di cui esistono molteplici versioni. Dal 2013 il suo lavoro è stato presentato: Scherzo. Molto allegro, quasi presto (Photoforum Pasquart, Biel 2018); Automatica (RiffRaff Kino Zürich, 2018); Glissement progressifs du récit (La Filature, Mulhouse (FR) / Biennale Moulhouse19); The end, let’s start again (Donau, Berlin 2016); Emerentia (Collectif Quinze, Le Bourg, Lausanne 2015). /
(1989) lives and works between Basel and Lugano. She studied at the school of photography in Vevey (CEPV). After the BA she worked 2 years for Thomas Saraceno, after those years she enrolled at the Academy of Basel (FHNW) where she recently obtained her master's degree. Lisa Lurati works from a hybrid visual material, found or produced indifferently and then constantly mixed, manipulated and transformed to create new images of which there are multiple versions. Since 2013 her work has been presented: Scherzo. Alessandro Polo
(1994) Vive e lavora a Losanna. Si è formato presso l’accademia NABA di Milano e ha ottenuto il master presso l’ECAL di Losanna nel 2019. La sua ricerca si concentra sulla relazione con i materiali, le cui forme e proprietà portano Polo a modellare strumenti, costumi e sculture -quasi- commestibili. Alla sua pratica artistica Alessandro Polo affianca quella del collettivo con ALTALENA (https://altalena.cc). La pratica artistica di Polo è stata esposta in diversi spazi e molteplici contesti fra i quali troviamo: Agli Scultori Giovani (Villa Necchi Campiglio, 2019); Useful Ness (Crévecoeur, Paris 2019); Miraggio (Crema 2019); Ending Explained (Doc!, Paris 2019). / (1994) Lives and works in Lausanne. He graduated from the NABA academy in Milan and obtained his master's degree at the ECAL in Lausanne in 2019. His research focuses on the relationship with materials, whose forms and properties lead Polo to model instruments, costumes and sculptures -almost- edible. In addition to his artistic practice, Alessandro Polo's work with the collective ALTALENA (https://altalena.cc). Polo's artistic practice has been exhibited in different spaces and multiple contexts among which we find: Agli Scultori Giovani (Villa Necchi Campiglio, 2019); Useful Ness (Crévecoeur, Paris 2019); Miraggio (Crema 2019); Ending Explained (Doc!, Paris 2019).
