About Blank: "Translucent"

About Blank: "Translucent"

“What was that night? That beautiful light that we saw…” These are the opening lyrics for Translucent, About Blank new single. Among reverberated guitars and electronic glitches, About Blank welcomes us in his sonic world; his guitar plays like a mantra that drags the listener in night scenarios, dark paths where it can happen, like magic, to see a light. Seeing the light is the core, with its meanings and its evocative strength. This is the main subject of the song: being able to recognize lights in our lives, treasure them until we can, because they soon disappear. (…but all the time it flows in can’t be caught / There’s a light that you saw)

Gabriele Dalena is the artist behind the moniker About Blank. Gabriele is a singer-songwriter and guitar player from Puglia, south Italy, currently living in Milan. He’s carrying on his musical research made of experimentation and contamination, over a solid musical territory made of indie folk / alternative aesthetics inspired by artists such as Bon Iver, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith, Mark Kozelek and many others. After Translucent the single will be followed by a full album of original songs already in progress, a coproduction between the artist and the indie label Beautiful Losers.
