Anthony J Fink: Feel the Rain
Anthony J Fink lets the emotion pour in his alt-rock EP, Feel the Rain
Detroit solo artist, Anthony J Fink, is fresh from the release of his 5-track EP, Feel the Rain, which takes the listener on a journey of loss, turmoil, and recovery, to the tune of visceral rock anthemics, singer-songwriter candour and 70s piano pop. With the ivories struck just as eloquently as in Elton John’s most powerful work, the vocals which caress the line between Springsteen and Lady Gaga, and the massive production, which rivals the multi-layered ingenuity of Muse, Feel the Rain is an enrapturing extension of compassion, amplified by the raw instrumental talent and polished production. The pop-rock momentum of Road Trip opens the EP on an anthemic-ballad note before Steady Unknown exhibits Fink’s tenacity as a singer-songwriter; the folky elements and ethereally bright arrangements are nothing short of transcendent. Track 3, Together, brings gospel nuances into the mix, in the same vein as Hozier, before things get a little baroque in Masquerade with the cut of the classical strings and histrionic synths. Saving the most revelationary for last, the title single pulls the EP together with a tight-knit Guns n Roses meets Alice in Chains rock gravitas.
Anthony J Fink said: Feel the Rain touches on many things. Loss is a big focus. My parents passed away when I was very young due to alcohol addiction. I have struggled with relationships in general in my life and with addiction. This coming January, I will be alcohol-free for four years.
