Interview: Celiane the Voice

Welcome Celiane the Voice! You have a new song dropping today! Congrats. Did you write your new release? If so, what was that experience like?

The song I am releasing is a cover from a very popular anime in 2003. I didn't write the lyrics but I did have to study them since the song is sung in three different languages. That took some time and I had to get a tutor to make sure my pronunciations were correct. This project was a labor of love.

Do you get nervous before you release new music or is it more of an excitement for you?

It is more excitement than anything.  The lead up is the biggest part that causes stress.  At the end of the day, each artist wants to share their art with the world.  This song will showcase a lot of me but I wanted to give my fans a song that was theirs.  My base are cosplayers, gamers and those that love fantasy worlds.  I finally was able to give them  something that was relatable for my base.

Was there anyone or anything in particular that pushed you to pursue music?

I used to sing all over the place when I was little. I would make up songs.  My mother was instrumental  in the beginning development of my voice.  She would hear me sing and correct my breath, my tone and make sure it was my voice, not me imitating a singer.  That set my path to think about performing as a profession but at that time I wanted to be a brain surgeon, not a singer.  That changed in college.   Various choir director's and voice teachers really pushed me to pursue music and explore sharing my gift with the world.

Other than your own, what has been your favorite song released this year?

I didn't have a favorite song to be released this year.  I have been looking for a song that sums up hope for everyone to keep us going, but I haven't found that yet.  So I am working on my own version.
