pagan interface: Psychic Feedback & The Crystal Void

Psychic Feedback & The Crystal Void is the latest offering from Munich based artist Pagan Interface (pi/0 for short). It’s a semi sequel to his self released album The Last Days Of Everything, digging deeper into the post traumatic vibes of sunbathing in capitalist fallout.

Ambiances of abandoned shopping malls collide with distorted drum-machines, arcade synths, guitars and are coated by corrupted muzak melodies. Somewhere between lounge, dance-floor and exceeding the highway’s speed-limit, the 303 bass-lines and re-sampled 909 drums bear witness to a strong root in the post punk and new-wave sub-genres of the 80’s and 90’s.

Distortion, glitches and imperfections in the music prove to be more than the sole attention grabbers, they are part of the character, vibe and charisma of the artist and his work. A breeze of freshness in a time where even the slightest hint of dirt and crust gets adjusted to fit in. As a rock album executed with the means of an instrumental electronic artist Psychic Feedback & The Crystal Void is a nerds journey into the bloom and gloom of a society and system that has fallen apart and is intended as an inspiration “that even though everything is broken you still may have a good time”.
