Drawing on their Cuban roots, the two Zurich based singers Pilar Vega and Mercee have teamed up for their new Latin/Caribbean Pop song ‘YEMAYA’ – one of the Orishas known as the divine mother, female warrior of the seven seas and fertility in the Afro-Cuban religion of Santeria.
‘YEMAYA’ tells the story of women who’ve somehow lost themselves. Lost themselves to the modern-day pressures of the world and high demands placed on them by others. It speaks of their longing to find their true inner-self and the journey to awaken the queen within.
This song is a bold statement about facing the question - QUIEN ES LA REINA? The answer is delivered to us - TODAS LAS MUJERES !
