Anthony Presti: "Fake News"
Anthony Presti is an alt-rock singer/songwriter based in San Francisco, California. Born in Menlo Park, CA, Presti moved to Seattle at a young age where he grew up during a thriving grunge movement. After a brief stint in Arizona, he moved to Sonoma County, CA where he lived for over twenty years, playing in a hardcore band before transitioning into an acoustic driven artist.
“Fake News” is an upbeat tongue ‘n’ cheek indie rock song that challenges the listener to question what they read, hear and see in the media. It sways back and forth between a sarcastic perspective in the verses to a disgruntled and empowered perspective in the chorus. Poking fun of the phrase “Fake News,” coined by President Trump, the lyrics call for a deeper listen and question the authenticity of mainstream media outlets. Presti wrote the song over a year ago, fed up with the current political regime spreading fake news through biased media outlets and has found it even more relevant today given the world’s current state of affairs.
Presti is set to release his fourth studio album, Different Places, on September 22nd, 2020. “Fake News” was Tracked at San Francisco’s Hyde Street Studios (Green Day, Train, Grateful Dead) and mixed by Jay Pellicci at New Improved Recording (The Family Crest, Brothers Comatose).
